Dancing With the Stars Recap: Jennifer Grey and Brandy Rule; Bristol Palin Attempts to Act Sexy

Last night's Dancing With the Stars featured a new "Insta-Dance" twist on top of the more traditional performances, with the five pairs competing for up to 60 points.
To the surprise of no one, Jennifer Grey fought her ailing body all the way to the top, putting forth a quick step full of bounce and an instant rumba that was superb.
Right there with her was Brandy, whose waltz was full of grace and whose instant cha cha to Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" earned a standing ovation from the crowd.

Still the favorites to take home the Mirror Ball.

Jennifer fared slightly better in her instant dance, with Brandy's waltz giving her the slight edge there. Appropriately, the two favorites both earned a total of 57 points.

Flying under the radar all season but showing great improvement is Kyle Massey, who showcased a range of skills last night with a slow waltz and fast jive.
The boy becoming a man before our eyes was just one point behind the leaders when the dust settled Monday, making a compelling case he belongs in the finals.
Will the viewers reward him that?
As for Kurt Warner, he may not be in the same league as the above trio, but he's a lot better every week, and the fact that he's still dancing speaks volumes.
Both of his efforts last night were far from awful, but as much as he tried to let loose, he came up short on the technicalities and finished well back with 48.
He narrowly edged out Bristol Palin, whose attempt at a steamy Argentine tango kind of creeped us out, in no small part because all we can visualize is Sarah Palin.
Who was also on the show last night, we might add.
Mama Grizzly herself appeared in another taped segment, which is hilarious on so many levels we can't even get into them here. But it's beyond weird and funny.
Bristol the Pistol seemed to lose her concentration at times, and while she deserves credit for making it this far, she doesn't deserve (or want) to go any further.

Alex Stebbins Compares to Lady Gaga to Jesus, Laments Singer's Boyfriend Theft

Alex Stebbins knew she didn't stand a chance.
Her boyfriend, Luc Carl, had dated her for a year before he dumped her to go back to his former love, who happens to be an iconic pop star.

Alex Stebbins knows she can't hang with the Gaga.

"She can literally have anything she wants, and I had the one thing she couldn't have, and that made her want it more," Alex said of the boyfriend stealer.
Alex Stebbins, 21, met Luc Carl, a 29-year-old bartender and drummer in August 2009. "The first thing he told me was that he had a very famous ex-girlfriend. I didn't care," she said, and the two began dating shortly thereafter.
But trouble started once Lady Gaga heard about it.About three months into their relationship, Stebbins said, the 24-year-old pop superstar started calling and texting Carl relentlessly. At first, "Luc ignored her. He said he was done with her. All they did was fight," Stebbins said.
"She'd pick at him for anything, and he couldn't take it. She was a very jealous person." Alex said Gaga was the only issue in an otherwise "perfect relationship."
"It was really hard to be with someone who has a really famous ex-girlfriend who would stop at nothing to get him back," Alex griped, but alas, it happened.
Last June, Carl took Stebbins to Vegas for her birthday. When they returned, she found she had run out of Luc. Gaga showed up and begged for him back.
He capitulated.
Later, when Gaga made a spectacle of herself at Citi Field - stripping to her underwear and flipping the bird during a Met game - Luc Carl was with her.
"It was so in my face," she said. "It felt like I got punched in the gut."

Rachel Weisz and Darren Aronofsky Break Up

After nine years together, Rachel Weisz and Darren Aronofsky have decided to call it a relationship. They never married but have a four-year-old son, Henry.
The Lovely Bones star and The Wrestler director both confirmed the separation via their rep, saying it took place months ago. No reason was given for it.
Some celebrity gossip sources say Rachel has been linked to Daniel Craig, a.k.a. James Bond, but this has not been independently confirmed or denied.

How often do you see two people get engaged, and then celebrate their birthday on the same day, all within one week?
The answer: not often. But that's the exact case with Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo today, as the former turns 37 and his new bride-to-be hits the age of 30. We're guessing this couple can think of plenty of ways to celebrate the occasions on their own (if you know what we mean!!!)...

Father of Shannen Doherty Passes Away

Close to a year after he suffered a stroke, the father of actress Shannen Doherty passed away on Friday. He was 66.
In March, immediately after the former Beverly Hills 90210 star was prematurely voted off Dancing with the Stars, she expressed gratitude merely for appearing on the show and seeing her dad's "face light up" as a result.

In her statement dealing with the passing of John Thomas Doherty, Shannen referred to her father as the "greatest man in the world" and said: "I love him with every inch of my being and cannot imagine life without him."
Our thoughts go out to this actress and her family.

Spencer Pratt & Heidi Montag: Celebrity Oddsmakers?

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are having financial problems.
Fortunately, they've been offered a high-paying gig that could not only ease said fiscal woes, but get them out of the U.S. for awhile. They win and so do we!
With Speidi recently admitting that they're broke, and even tried to fake a divorce to keep the money train a comin', a gambling site may ride to the rescue.

YouWager (dot) com has offered the couple jobs. As in work, in exchange for money. While this may be a foreign concept to them, it's an enticing offer.
Heidi and Spencer would be given a cool $100,000 each to "manage the odds and lines surrounding the entertainment sector." Yup, they'd set odds.
The gruesome twosome would be living in Costa Rica, where the company is based (for legal issues, obviously), handicapping critical gambling topics "ranging from celebrity news and pop culture to music and movies."
They'd obviously be good at that. Spencer's main hangup, however? Due to the political turmoil between Costa Rica and Nicaragua, he's "looking into how he can legally own a firearm over there so that he can protect himself."
How awesome is this guy?

Oksana Grigorieva: Mel Gibson Cheated On Me!

Oksana Grigorieva is tracking down women she thinks Mel Gibson was putting it to while they were together, believing the star may have abused them as well.
She's trying to prove Mel is too violent to be around their daughter, Lucia, over whom the couple is embroiled in an ugly custody fight. But here's the problem:

• Oksana herself was Mel's mistress while he was still married to Robyn Gibson, who says he was never violent - even once - in 29 years of marriage.
• TMZ, which is all over this story like Oksana on a $10 bill, has no evidence Mel cheated on her, let alone grew violent with other women.

Just the same, Oksana Grigorieva believes Mel was cheating on her and wants to ask the women if he ever attacked them. Bet Violet Kowal is on her list.
Oksana's team wants someone to come forward and say Mel was violent toward them in order to achieve Oksana's endgame of stripping Mel of custody.
The judge in the custody case has been unmoved by her arguments and has given Mel full visitation, even as he's being investigated for domestic violence.
