Lindsay Lohan playing Linda Lovelace seemed too perfect, but it wasn't meant to be. The producers of Inferno are going in a new, less-troubled direction.
"We are withdrawing our offer from Lindsay Lohan," director Matthew Wilder said.
While it may seem a harsh rebuke of Lohan, who is currently in rehab at the Betty Ford Center, the director says it's not personal, it's just business.
"Ultimately, the impossibility of insuring her - and some other issues - made it impossible for us to go forward." Yep, an indefinite stay in rehab will do that.
An announcement on her replacement is imminent. "We are in negotiations [with another star] and working out the legalities of bringing her onboard."
Who do you think it is? Can anyone replace Lindsay?

EXTINGUISHED: Guess they're gonna need a new poster.
"We have stuck by Lindsay very patiently for a long time with a lot of love and support," said Wilder, who hinted last week that Lindsay might lose the role."Ultimately, the impossibility of insuring her - and some other issues - made it impossible for us to go forward."
